How it works

A real bank, at the kitchen table.

You set the policy. The reserve does the math. Your kid sees the whole picture.

1Allowance, on schedule

Pay automatically.

Set a fixed amount and a cadence. Allowance lands in their account on time, every time, with no chore-by-chore scoreboard.

Mon · weekly+ $24.00
2Dividends, calmly

Pay them interest.

You set the dividend rate. Interest compounds monthly on whatever balance stays put — so saving rewards itself, visibly, in their ledger.

5.0% APR · monthly+ $1.84
3Withdrawals, with talk

Approve together.

When they want to spend, they request. You approve, decline, or talk it over first. The math is on the page; the conversation isn't.

Saving makes more money when it stays put.

Move the dials and watch what happens. This is the same projection your kid sees in their dashboard — no abstractions, just the same arithmetic, drawn slowly.

Predictability is the whole point. Kids learn to budget against a known number, not a moving target — and a balance that earns is a balance worth keeping.

Common questions

Honest answers.

Where does the money actually live?
It lives with you. The Parental Reserve is a ledger, not a bank — we keep score so your kid sees the math, but you hold the actual cash. When they withdraw, you hand them the money the way you always have.
How are dividends calculated?
You set an annual percentage rate. Each month we apply one-twelfth of that rate to the average daily balance and post the result as a dividend. The number that appears in their ledger is the same number you'd compute on paper — we show our work.
What can my kid actually do?
View their balance, see growth projections, request a withdrawal with a note, and read every line of their ledger. They can't transfer money out without your approval, ever.
Can I run different rates for different kids?
Yes — each account can have its own allowance, cadence, and dividend rate. You can also pause an account or freeze its balance during travel, illness, or a teaching moment.
Is this a debit card or a real bank?
Neither. There's no card, no FDIC insurance, no spending account in the kid's name. The intentional limit is what makes the lessons real — every withdrawal is a conversation, not a swipe.
